Style Icons

There are just some guys who are effortlessly cool and scream style. These are the kind of men we want to be like and that girls would kill to be with. Think of Brad Pitt, Marlon Brando in his hey day, Kanye West, Frank Sinatra, Steve McQueen in a Stetson, Usher, or Johnny Depp (even with Jack Sparrow eyeliner) … cool. We’ve picked 3 infamous style icons and tried to nail down this mystical essence of awesomeness and figure out how we can use it.

Mr James Dean

This legend is the father of that unkempt but mischievously sexy style that has been recreated by many huge actors, such as Marlon Brando and Paul Newman. James Dean invented an image of a fragile bad boy, moody, irrelevant. The boy nice girls shouldn’t be with but can’t get enough of. His look was unkempt cool in a rustic leather jacket, old but fitted white t–shirt, worn denims (often Lees) and boots. He even made the vest popular before it was cool. In his few short years, he became an icon for the previously ignored youth of America and his style has lived on to become classic and timeless. Legend.

Pharrell Williams

This guy is so cool he’d chill your Hansa with a single look … young, fresh, uber stylish, with an effortless cool approach to clothes. His clothing lines have gained a serious following proving he can walk the walk and talk the talk when it comes to style. He has been quoted as saying, “Fashion has to reflect who you are, what you feel at the moment, and where you’re going. It doesn’t have to be bright, doesn’t have to be loud. Just has to be you.” He has an everyday, casual way of dressing but constantly changes his look and experiments. He dresses for him, meaning he always looks confident in what ever he wears. Take inspiration from this R&B megastar by picking clothes that bring out your personality and EXPERIMENT.

David Beckham

This Manchester United old boy has an innate sense of style and pulls off anything from a three-piece suit to a tracksuit with ease and confidence. He is not afraid to wear anything and he experiments. This is what makes him a real style icon. Beckham is kind of “metro” in his approach to fashion as he’s not worried about wearing a bit of bling, sporting a man bag, or looking after himself. The trick is in the details, so mess around with accessories; hats, scarves, bags, leather wristbands, sunglasses, watches, and distressed jeans. Mix up your look and wear it with confidence … confidence is king when it comes to style.
